Power & Conviction in Spells and Rituals

I have found that some Wiccans practice rituals and spells in a steady, low tone of voice. I do not think that boring words or actions grab the attentions of the divine, the spirits or the magick within you. I feel that in general we need to start putting more power and conviction in our words, for words are powerful. So the next time you hail to the guardians of the watchtowers, yell it and declare it with all the power that rests inside you, and perhaps you will get a better reaction. If you send the divine a 2 cent prayer, expect a 2 cent answer. I think that we get out of our magick what we put into it. I also feel that speaking with power and conviction shows your faith and love in the Gods. I believe that you have to want that magick from the divine and yourself. You have to speak as though you believe, not like you're unsure or bored. Remember this the next time you do a ritual or a spell. Be proud to be a Wiccan, there's a lot to be proud of.

Blessed Be.

The Mixing of Pantheons

I have found that this tends to be a heated debate among some of the Wiccan and Pagan community, even though mixing Pantheons is a common practice in Wicca. I can see where the opposition is coming from in the sense that they believe it to be disrespectful to use bits and pieces from religions and not use all of it. But what they fail to realize is that no one follows every single thing of any religion. For example, is a Christian honestly going to try to follow parts of the Bible where it says to kill anyone who works on Sunday or who believe in different Gods? I think not. Are all of the women preachers going to follow I Corinthians 14:34-35? Obviously not. So we all pick and choose what works for us and what does not. In Wicca, we know that what may work for one might not work at all for another. And so, I think that we should draw from practices and beliefs in religions that connect with us and that we can work well with. I have mixed Pantheons, and I have not felt any bad energy from the Gods for doing so.

In Wicca, there is a belief in a God and Goddess. But the reason there are no specific names for those deities is because God and Goddess is different to each individual. To me, Goddess may be Mary. To you, Goddess might be Athena. So it's what or whoever you believe to be God & Goddess. I have yet to see a spellbook or any Wiccan or Witchcraft book that does not mix Pantheons. I was reading a spellbook recently which taught how to dispel a Ghost, and it suggested calling on Anubis and Hermes. These are different Gods from different Pantheons. And these are acceptable practices in the Wiccan community.

It is also very difficult to find a religion that did not borrow from another one anyway. The best example I can give is Christianity. We Wiccans & Pagans know that Christianity would have no foundation had it not drawn so much from Pagan cultures. As an example, the eating of bread and the drinking of wine to symbolize the body and blood of Christ was originally an Egyptian Pagan practice where they ate wheat bread and drank beer to symbolize the same of Osiris. And I am sure there are other Wiccans and Pagans who can tell me of Pagan religions that borrowed from other Pagans.

Another perfect example, I think of mixing Pantheons in the Wiccan community is the Goddess chant. It calls out to Goddesses from many different Pantheons. Some believe that the Gods and Goddess have always been the same deities, just with different names. For example, some believe that Artemis and Diana are the same Goddess, just with different names, and I also believe they are one in the same. I think that no matter which name we choose, we are calling to the Gods and Goddesses. What do you think?

Returning for Blogging

Hey, everyone,

Many of you may know that I left youtube recently, and for good reasons. I simply have no desire to be on youtube anymore. I would rather blog and go out and do things with the Wiccan and Pagan communities. So just know that I am back here on my blog and I will post new discussions regularly.

Thank you so much for your support. By the way, don't hesitate to comment on older posts.

In Defense of Azrael

Azrael is the angel of death whom I have worked with in some exorcisms, and he is my guide in finding and booting out lost souls and spirits. He appeared to me as a beautiful white angel while in meditation to find protective spirits; he did not appear as the grim reaper as many depict him. But there has been debate over Azrael’s status, Angel or Demon? So in this article, I will discuss some facts about the legend of Azrael and why I do not believe him to be a demon or evil by any means.

I think the reason people have depicted Azrael as evil is simple. Humans in general are scared of death. It is perhaps the thing we fear most. And so it’s easy to label what we fear as “evil,” and at that point we would surely label the angel of death as even more evil, perhaps even a demon of Hell who will come to bring this dreaded death which is the end of life. But in the facts of Azrael’s story, he came to Earth to help save souls from Hell, and he guides souls from this realm to the next.

But wasn’t Azrael kicked out of heaven?
Actually no, he was not forced to leave heaven. He never did the things that Lucifer did. He decided that he could do his job better as an independent, and so he left heaven out of his own free will. However, he did not stop loving and serving God, and he continued to have relations with great angels like Saint Michael. There’s a big difference between leaving on your own and being kicked out. For example, you can leave your parents house simply because you feel it’s time to move on and be on your own, but it does not mean that you hate your parents and will be in rebellion against them. Lucifer was kicked out by force because he dared to make war on God for control of heaven. Azrael simply left home to be on his own.

Isn’t Azrael an ugly, evil-looking skeleton?
Legend has it that only bad or evil people will see him this way. But those who are good and have lived a good life will see him as a beautiful angel who has come to help or take them to a good afterlife. I myself have acquired the help of Azrael while in meditation and, as I previously stated, saw him as a beautiful white angel. On another note, just because you see Azrael does not mean you or someone you know is going to die. He may be there to teach you something or to help you. Some say he is a very good, wise and powerful guardian to have at your side. Furthermore, Azrael can take on many other forms; some have seen him in the form of a female angel.

What is Azrael’s purpose?
Azrael’s purpose is to help guide souls from one realm to the next. From my research and dealings with the angel of death, he can also free you or your house from hauntings by lost souls and spirits, or ghosts as they are called, for Azrael is the rounder-up of the dead. There is no need to fear him, he will not harm you. According to legend, the only time you should fear him is at the end of an evil life.

Isn’t Azrael often seen in black and depressing clothes and surroundings?
I have seen pictures of him as an angel with black wings and black surroundings, but what you must realize is that black does not always mean bad. One meaning of black attire at a funeral is to mourn, and Jesus said, “Blessed are those who mourn.” Witches and Wiccans also wear black not because it represents evil but because it absorbs energy. Black can also symbolize mysteriousness and being sophisticated. I think one of the worst stereotypes we have in modern day religion is that black means bad or evil, and it certainly does not.

Where does Azrael’s loyalty stand?
If he has any as far as heaven or hell is concerned, I would definitely say that his loyalty and service still lies with heaven and almighty God. I would also say that his relations with angels like Saint Michael is a good sign.

Conclusion:
Azrael is not a demon or a consultant of Hell. The only time he appears as such is in the movie Dogma, which is basically a parody of the Bible. In fact, Azrael ventured into Hell to rescue souls; he is merciful. Even after he left the kingdom of heaven out of his own free will, he kept serving the highest Lord and held his relations with other angels of heaven. According to Azrael’s story, there is no reasonable evidence to suggest that he is a demon and/or an enemy of God or heaven. And the reason humans see him as otherwise is because we fear death as evil. But Azrael set out to teach people to not fear death as it is nothing more than going to another world.
Prayer to Azrael for exorcism of haunted areas:
O’ Azrael, the blessed angel of death, glorious and wise, defender of the good human soul, see me now in my time of torment and great need. Come down and snatch all lost souls and spirits that now seek to terrorize and haunt me, and cast them into the afterlife so that they can no longer fill me with fear. Blessed Azrael, please hear me, come down in my defense and round up the lost souls who have passed on from human form and dare to defy you by staying on this realm with evil actions. Azrael, deliver me, please hear me! This evil that now plagues me and my home, the souls of the departed, come and scare them away forever and ever. Amen.

Good and Bad Faeries

I covered this topic recently on my youtube channel, PrinceLordChris, and I am surprised at the people who whink that faeries are demons and are all bad because they can trap and kill humans. This is a fallacy. Just as in all other things, there are good and bad faeries. I think that most of the people who teach about faeries will tell to tread lightly around them and stay away from the bad ones. They do have a distrust of humans and even a negative outlook towards them because of what humans have done to this Earth, we have destroyed it and just like many animals who must retreat after their habitats are destroyed, so have the faeries as their forests are clear cut and their nature areas are polluted. How could you think highly of someone who came and destroyed your home and polluted the places you held sacred?

The bottom line is that faeries will treat you well if you treat them the same. Show respect and show that you are different than the average human being, becase as a WICCAN, PAGAN, or WITCH, you are different. We can harness the power of nature and restore its glory, which is one reason why the faeries love us. :)

Testimony To Athena

It appears as if Athena, Goddess of wisdom among other things, granted me her grace a couple of weeks ago. I am in Psychology and when the third test came around, I knew it would be hard. There was so much confusing information that no matter how many times I read it, I just could not remember it. Not to say that studying did not do any good, but when I went in for the test, I did not know around 60 to 70% of the questions, and I knew that I needed atleast a B to keep my average grade which seemed like a far fetched hope for me at that point. So I prayed and asked Athena for her wisdom, my exact words were, "Athena give me wisdom."

On most of the test, I gave my best guess, and thought that a high D would be generous to me. However, much to my surprise, I made a high B. An A would've been better, of course, but I thank Athena for the wisdom that gave me the ability to keep my grade high. I would have never expected to make such a grade coming out of the test. Thank you, Athena.

SEX at Beltane!

Hey, guys,

Beltane is almost here and I've seen Wiccans and Pagans make videos and discussions on the sexuality of the time which is the key to fertility and life. Sex symbolizes the rebirth of life. Sex is sacred to us, I think that's where we differ from religions like Christianity. They practically fear it and we hold it as sacred and the building block of love and life on Earth. I now have an understanding as to why our society is so afraid and ashamed of sex, which is ridiculous. The Bible teachings still have a strong-hold on the minds of many people, but that number is becoming fewer and fewer as we discover that to want things like sex does not mean you are evil or filthy, but just that you are human and you enjoy sex. God said to do great things and have sex anyway.

To say that you don't want sex, would not have sex and do not think about sex, would be to say that you are not a human being, which is ridiculous. No amount of words in a book will change that. Sex is anything but wrong as long as it happpens between two consenting adults. As a friend of mine once said, "Sex feels too good to be bad." We were put here to enjoy and love life and eachother, so take advantage of that. I think that one of the biggest problems and downfalls of our society is that society practically teaches people to be ashamed of being human. I think that sex also symbolizes freedom. Be free and tend to your sexual desires, love eachother. Show people that they don't have to be afraid of being human, that they don't have to live in misery just because a book said so.

Sex is also a critical bond in relationships. I have had several since graduating high school, they all ended but one was unique. All of my other relationships had good and even great amounts of sex, and when the relationships ended there was crying and pain. But in my unique relationship where there was no sex because we didn't have time to spend together, the bond just faded away into nothing. We cared for eachother, but there was no pain, tears, hatred or anger at the end, it was like it had never even existed. We had no sex life, and the effect was that our relationship ceased to exist as if it had never been there. I remember all of my other girlfriends, but not her. A good sex life is essential. Oxytocin and Basopressin are brain chemicals released during sex that creates a bond between the two of you. To me, Sex is very scared. It's an exciting and beautiful thing you share with someone you're drawn to, and you'll never forget it.

Feel free to comment.

How Do You See The Horned God?

So many people have confused the horned God, or Pan, the peaceful nature God, with Satan. Although I do not work with Pan at this time, that's not to say that I won't. Many people don't realize that the Christians took him from the Pagan culture before them and made him into Satan as an enemy for their God and mankind. But in reality, Pan came down to Arcadia to help people, an aid to mankind, after Zeus banned him from Olympus for being annoying. But Pan never started a war with Zeus, or God as he would be known today, Zeus was actually annoyed by Pan's flute and made him leave heaven. This is where the Christians got their Satan concept and made it into their own story. Pan or the Horned God has never been evil or an enemy of mankind in history.

I see Pan as an awesome nature God. How do you see him? What and who is he to you? Have you had any magickal experiences, workings and/or successful relationships with Pan? Please feel free to tell your story. Of all the beautiful, magickal and enchanting spirits in nature, I am sure the Wiccan tales are endless.

Also, many people see the God and Goddess as part of our own spirits. It is not only a Christian concept that the spirit of God is in us all, it's also Pagan and Wiccan. Do you think that the divine dwells within us all? I believe that the spirits and magick of the God and Goddess shines in us. Be sure to include what you think.

Blessed Be.

Paranormal Investigations

Hi, Guys,

So sorry that I haven't posted any new topics lately, but I haven't been getting many people to comment. Hopefully this one will. I have always said, "Never send a whimp to do a Witch's job. In other words, never hire a paranormal investigator." I mean, what's the use in going in search of something only to run once you find it? Witch's never run, Wiccans never run, we are not scared of anything. So, in this discussion, I want you guys to tell me about any paranormal experiences you have had and what you did. This can include anything paranormal or supernatural, like ghosts, demons, even mothman if you've encountered him. I really hope that you guys will post to this discussion much better than the last few. Please help me keep the blog going through your support with comments and discussions.

Thanks.

Candle Magick

I know mostly every Wiccan has done some form of candle magick, so I want you guys to tell me about yours, the one you enjoyed the most. Tell of your success or failure in it. I have been kind of sad that I haven't been getting a response from all of my followers on my posts, and so I figured that I would post a discussion that mostly every Wiccan has done. So come tell me about your candle magick, what you use it for, how effective it is, were there any paranormal or magickal experiences? Etc.

I look forward to hearing from all of you.

Tarot Readings

Hey, guys,

Yesterday, I bought my first deck of Tarot cards, The Golden Tarot. It appears as though I have some natural talent already. Last night, I told my grandmother about her past, a time that she did not tell me about and was before I was even born. I do have some psychic abilities, and the Tarot appears to enchance them. I have a new-found love for this field of magick and prophecy. I want you guys to tell me about your times with Tarot cards, if the predictions came true, and if they were ever wrong any other time.

Blessed Be.

Let's Talk about MAGICK!!!

Hey, everyone. I know I've been a bit off topic in terms of the purpose of my blog lately, and I apologize for that. I am pleased and grateful for all of the followers and supporters I have. This post will have three topics, you can comment on either one you want, or all of them if you wish. I also wish to know if you guys are recieveing notifications when I post a new topic, so please tell me in your comment.

The first topic is on inner magick. What I mean is how do you feel day-to-day inside? Are you like me and can feel the magick stirring inside you, just waiting to accomplish something great? Tell about it. Do you use magick in your everyday life? If so, tell of your success with it.

Second topic, have you ever seen supernatural things about people that are usually not seen, such as auras? Do you have times like me when you dream things that come true and have natural instincts that tell you when and how something will happen and then it does? Do you think we are psychic?

Do any of you know about any past lives you may have had? I can always feel as if I use to be someone else. Someone great, but I cannot place my finger on it yet. But I would love to hear what any of you may have to say.

Blessed Be.
Courage and Honor.

Street Preachers: Free Speech or Harassment?

What's up, friends?

I will talk about this on my youtube channel tomorrow, but I'm going to go ahead and post the discussion here as well. As Wiccans, no matter which denomination, we tend to face harassment from the radical Christian community. But do not be fooled, we are not the only ones. I have seen them go after anyone who is not of their religion. I think they have a lot of nerve the way they harass people. I have seen them tear people down and harass them simply because they have a different religious belief, and I am sure you have too. I am a Christian Wiccan, but I'm not going to try to force my beliefs on others and I don't believe everything in the Bible.

I think many of these street preaching Christians are so dedicated because they know that their religion is no longer dominant. In terms of percentage, Wicca is the fastest growing religion in the USA. We had 134,000 members in 2001, and our numbers doubled every 30 months after that.

But what I want to discuss here is "Is there a fine line between free speech and harassment?" Do you think these street preachers should be able to go after people like they do? Do you think they should be able to tear people down in public? Do you think they are overstepping their boundaires by trying to force their beliefs on others? Do you think that everyone has the right to go out in public without being faced with preachers harassing them? I think this will make for a good discussion.

Blessed Be.
Christopher.

UPDATE on Religious Renaissance

Hey, guys. So far, I have gotten 6 people to participate in the Religious Renaissance. You can look at the last post for details, there's also a video about it on my youtube channel princelordchris. The video is called Renaissance, and it's featured, so it won't be hard to spot. http://www.youtube.com/princelordchris But there is a new development. I have decided to keep the Religious Renaissance open through the spring and until the last day of summer. I will cover other topics on the blog and youtube during that time, but as the pieces of art come in, I will make videos directing people to your sites. Every year, The Religious Renaissance will be open from the first day of spring until the last day of summer. This will give all who wish to participate plenty of time. So don't feel as if you have to rush, I will direct people to your art as it comes instead of trying to get everyone bunched in all at once. So don't worry, if you participate and notify me of your work, you will be recognized. I also explain why I think the Religious Renaissance is so important in my video on youtube.

Thanks.
Blessed Be.
Christopher.

Religious Renaissance

Hey, guys, the last discussion is not yet closed, so you can still comment, but it has been open for a while, so I figured that those who wish to comment already have. This discussion is a bit different. This will be open until everyone who wishes to participate has.

I want to call for a Religious Renaissance. Over the next month in some form or another, I want you to artistically express your religious beliefs, views and experiences. For example, writings, paintings, drawings and photography. Do this within your communities, or online. You can open a free website at http://www.freewebs.com/ and there you can place your artistic expressions of your religion and then come back on this blog to post a link to it so people can go see it. Once you've created a website, there are also many ways to promote it, and I will help. I'll make a video on youtube directing people to your sites. If you choose to go with a host other than freewebs where you have to pay, that's fine too. I'm sure the promotion tools will be stronger.

I hope every one of you will engage in this.

Courage and Honor.
Blessed Be.
Christopher.

Which Gods and Angels are at your side?

Hi, everyone,

This new discussion will be open from February 1st to February 20th, 2009.

As Wiccans and Pagans, we all have our various Gods, Goddesses and Angels we pray to and who are our guardians. Mine happen to be St. Michael and Azrael. There was a time when I strongly believed in the Greek Gods, but I am now starting to rely only on Michael and Azrael. St. Michael has given me great courage to face any horror or evil spirit that I may encounter in my life. With him, there is no demon I cannot defeat, nor is there an obstacle I cannot overcome.

Azrael is the Angel of Death, and many people lift an eyebrow when they hear she is one of my guardian angels. She's very beautiful, although she can appear as either male or female. She has a pleasant smile but is somewhat pale, her body and hair an ever-moving blackness. She protects me from death.

I want you guys to tell who your Gods and Guardians are, why, and how they help you in your magic and everyday life.

Live with courage and honor.
Blessed Be.
Prince Christopher.

SUCCESSFUL SPELLS

Hey, guys, since there's now a few people following this blog, I think it's time for a new discussion. I want you guys to tell me about your most successful spell. You don't have to reveal its secrets, but just tell what it was for and how well it worked. Be sure to leave your marks and histories wherever you can. After we're gone, it'll still be there for people to read and think about who we were.

I'll have to think about which one I'm going to tell, but you guys can go ahead. This discussion will stay open until February 1st, 2009.

Prince Christopher.

The Fairy Scrolls: My Fairy Experience

Hey, guys, I guess this is a good time for me to start the first discussion called The Fairy Scrolls :). I have a feeling that this Wiccan blog will contain many magickal experiences from people. Mine is not that spectacular with fairies so far, but I have read sites of other people, such as this one: http://florella.vrprincesskj.com/ And I am sure there are many other Wiccans with fantastic tales. I use to be worried that people would think of me as crazy, but I know I'm not. I know they're real, and so do many others.

We Wiccans know that dreams mean a great deal. When I first became a Wiccan back in 08, I decided to seek out some magickal guardians and protectors in meditation to the Astral Plane, and I found fairies. I felt such a strong connection with my first companions, (although I later became befriended by St. Michael and Azrael), and that night I had a very realistic dream, a dream that I had never had before or since in my 23 years of life at that point.

I was on the bottom floor of a building that was always crumbling apart, but there were no walls so I could see the outside light around me. I found that the floor was actually a church and I walked down the aisle to an altar where I saw dozens of the charming creatures fluttering. I kneeled before the altar to notice that they had red wings. Since that time, I have always felt them with me, but I have yet to re-visit them in meditation or in nature. But I plan to, and I will post it.

Feel free to comment and leave your own experience.
